Rejection Letters

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

-Thomas A. Edison

"The Hall of Shame" is what I lovingly call my vast collection of rejection letters. Their sources vary from craft shows to grants to artist residencies. In 2010, I applied to five graduate school MFA programs. As the rejection letters came in, I decided something about them should be celebrated and capitalized on. So, I made them into crafts and sold them on Etsy for application fee required by each college. Below are the "upcycled" letters and the images created to incite desire in potential buyers. One was sold.
